Can Descregut is a family-owned traditional winery managed by a young couple (Marc and Arantxa), who after 3 generations growing grapes and making bulk base wine for cava, in 2005 decided to take a step further in the elaboration of organic wine.

We are located in the Penedès, a Mediterranean wine region one hour away from Barcelona, with more than 2,000 years of history linked to wine, and pioneer in the development of quality wines and cava in Spain.

We cultivate the traditional Catalan white grape varieties as Xarel.lo, Xarel.lo Vermell, Macabeu and Parellada but also the French Merlot. They come from our 4 estates, situated around the winery and in the Penedès hills. The altitude varies from 200 to 500 meters and offers a diverse mixture of soils and microclimates.

We work with organic farming methods, without herbicides and insecticides, always seeking the natural balance of the vine. Can Descregut wines and cavas are ecological and biodynamic; they breathe the countryside and embrace the essence of everything that surrounds the vineyards. The winery is certified as organic by the UE.
