The Nadal family has owned and cultivated the Nadal de la Boadella Estate without a break since 1510. Located in a privileged area in the heart of the Penedès area, 40 miles South of Barcelona and 17 miles from the sea, our vineyards receive the influence of the fresh Mediterranean breeze and the protection of the Montserrat mountain.

The origin of our CAVA-making dates from the early 20th century, when due to the Spanish Civil War, part of the family estate was confiscated and transformed into a military airfield. After the war, the land was returned to the family. Mr. Ramon Nadal Giró decided to reinvent the business and start making an added-value product, CAVA. The first bottle was made in 1943. During the 90’s, when the current NADAL generation took over, the winery started making noble sweet and dry white wines as well.

The Nadal de la Boadella Estate covers 100 hectares, of which 60 are devoted to vines, while the rest is sown with wheat and other cereals to oxygenate the land and let it recover so that future vines will grow stronger, in accordance with Sustainable Viticulture principles. The whole process is 100% controlled by NADAL and ALL the grapes used to make our wines come exclusively from our Estate.

Made from the traditional varieties (Macabeu, Xarel•lo and Parellada), our CAVAS and NOBLE WHITE WINES are a beacon in top-class gastronomy, and are present in places such as El Celler de Can Roca by Roca brothers, Sant Pau by Carme Ruscalleda, and Gaig by Carles Gaig.

Time to pamper the vines while respecting the environment. Time to harvest at the optimal point of ripeness. Time to press and to make wine with care, with the fruits of our 43 vineyards. Since 1510 time is in our hands.
