Since the end of 19th century, the Salla Solé family produces quality wines in its estate, Monestir del Tallat, belonging to DO Costers del Segre, within the region of l’Urgell (Lleida/Catalonia-Spain). The vineyards owned by the family are close to the lands of the Cistercian Monastery of Vallbona de les Monges and the Sanctuary of Tallat, from which they receive their name.

The wines produced at Monestir del Tallat Estate are: Monestir del Tallat Coupage 35-30-35, Monestir del Tallat Merlot, Monestir del Tallat Merlot Seleccion and Monestir del Tallat Malbec. All of them made from noble varieties such asGarnacha tinta, Merlot, Tempranillo and Malbec (Auxerrois/Côt).

The clon of our Malbec comes from vineyards located in the Lot Valley, near Cahors, in Quercy (Southwest of France), the birthplace of this prized variety.
