La Vinyeta is a small vineyard and olive farm located in the heart of the Empordà region, in Mollet de Peralada. It is a young, family company that is the fruit of effort and ambition.

The origin of this project dates back to 2002, when two old Samsó (Carignan) and Grenache vineyards —aged between 55 and 80 years— were purchased. From that moment on, more and more vines were planted up to the present 30 hectares and 19 different grape varieties. The project was consolidated in 2006 with the construction of the winery and the production of the first wines. In most wines, 100-year-old vines of traditional varieties, such as Carignan or Grenache, are combined with young vines that were planted from the beginning. In 2009, La Vinyeta became one of the first wineries to adopt Integrated Production, an environment friendly cultivation system.

Heus* Llavors* and Puntiapart* can be found in the best Catalan restaurants, including El Bulli and Celler de Can Roca (Girona) and Sant Pau from Carme Ruscalleda (Barcelona).

DO EMPORDÀ

The Empordà Designation of Origin is located in the northeast of Catalonia, with approximately 2,000 hectares of vineyards. The Empordà winemaking tradition goes back more than 2.500 years. Natural factors strengthen the favorable environment for obtaining the unique Empordà wines. The closeness of the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees creates a climate characterized by high sun exposure, low rainfall and the strong northerly Tramontane wind. In addition, the winters are mild and the summers hot, but moderated by the sea breeze.
