THE CELLAR
Created in 1984 and located in a 19th century ancient cellar in the Alt Penedès region, province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
At Heretat MontRubí we create innovative and exclusive wines of limited production.

We were world pioneers in the development of Sumoll red wines, a regional variety of which 100 hectares (250 acres) can only be found in the world today. We also produce sweet extra-mature Xarel·lo and Sumoll wines in an ancient hay barn.

VALUES
With quality always in mind, we select the best plots of L’Avella farm, located between 500 and 800 meters (1600 and 2600 feet) above sea level.
In a world market saturated with almost cloned wines, we commit to the genuineness of the indigenous vine varieties and watch over the conservation of the purity of the grape, promoting the terroir and protecting the native varieties of the Penedès: Sumoll, Xarel·lo, Parellada, Macabeu, Grenache and Samsó.

The harvest is manual and selective. We always aim at the minimum possible intervention, pursue the equilibrium between everything that involves the vineyard and the wine; in other words, we seek for harmony.
