Celler Cesca Vicent is a small family-run winery established in 2000 producing terroir driven wines under the Priorat DOQ.

Cesca Vicent inherited the land in the 1980’s. The land, that has been in the family for centuries, came into her hands after years of abandonment. Encouraged by her husband Luis, after buying some adjacent plots, she arranged the land and planted 20,000 vines. Nowadays is a single estate in the heart of the Priorat.

The estate sits on a slope with terraces with a gradient of over 10% (even 48% in some cultivated areas) except in the lower portion near the Montsant river. Most terraces are oriented south-east, with good light exposure.

The property’s most outstanding advantage is that it is endowed with different types of soils (licorella, quartz, gravel, granite, slime…) and microclimates that provide important differentiating elements. Every “terroir” has its own characteristics and each grape variety expresses itself in a different way depending on what its roots have explored and this finally characterizes the wines, wines with their own personality.

The grapes ripen under a benevolent Mediterranean climate with over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and an annual rainfall below 500 mm. The red varieties are represented by Carignan, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot and the white varieties are white Garnacha and Macabeu. The vineyard production is certified organic by the CCPAE since 2008 and the wine production is certified by the CCPAE since 2013.
